Most local exfoliating toners reach for glycolic acid — a small molecule that works fast but stings nearly as fast. Polyhydroxy acid (gluconolactone) is structurally larger, which means it exfoliates the surface layer just as effectively without penetrating deep enough to trigger sting, redness, or photosensitivity. We pair it with a precise 0.5% salicylic acid (BHA) to clear pores, then layer in niacinamide and panthenol so the formula hydrates while it resurfaces. The result is a daily exfoliating mist Pakistani skin can actually tolerate through summer.
